AESSEAL Inc. has been awarded the 2024 Tom Ballard Advanced Energy Leadership Award, a significant recognition of our commitment to advancing energy efficiency and sustainability. Presented by the Tennessee Advanced Energy Business Council (TAEBC), this award celebrates outstanding leadership and achievement in advocating for, connecting, and advancing Tennessee’s advanced energy economy.

AESSEAL’s journey to earning this award is rooted in its steadfast focus on energy efficiency, sustainability, and cutting-edge innovation. A significant factor in in this recognition is the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) paired with a 500+kWh Photovoltaic (PV) Grid, a pioneering installation at the U.S. manufacturing headquarters in Knoxville, Tennessee. As one of the first of its kind in the East Tennessee region, this system enhances the reliability of renewable energy sources, playing a critical role in achieving the company’s ambitious sustainability goals.

This green energy initiative not only reflects environmental responsibility but also highlights the importance of resilience. The system ensures continuous energy production despite disruptions, emphasizing the company’s focus on operational reliability and long-term sustainability.

In line with our Net Zero initiatives, the 500kWh Battery Energy Storage System was recently transformed by talented local artist Megan Lingerfelt from East Tennessee. Commissioned to create a mural that encapsulates our vision for a sustainable future, Megan’s design showcases the company’s vision with vibrant depictions of the Net Zero logo and themes of environmental stewardship.

Receiving the Tom Ballard Advanced Energy Leadership Award is a testament to the collective efforts of AESSEAL Inc. and the AES Engineering group. It highlights the company’s dedication to advancing technologies that promote Net Zero goals while fostering economic growth and sustainability.

Head of Operations Chris Staackmann accepted the award on behalf of AESSEAL Inc. Chris shared:

Thank you to TAEBC for this recognition, and to Solar Alliance for their outstanding work in designing and installing the solar array. As a global manufacturing business, we recognize that a scope of our operations has consequences for the environment around us. That’s why we’re thrilled this project will be able to power our company’s operations with renewable energy, and position AESSEAL as a model for other manufacturers in the Tennessee Valley Authority region.

As we celebrate this achievement, we are reminded that the journey towards a sustainable future is a shared responsibility. By fostering partnerships and continuing to innovate, AESSEAL is dedicated to creating a lasting impact in the advanced energy landscape.
